Try not to hard-stop; this can put a lot of strain on brakes, and that'll only mean more wear and tear, and sooner. Try to coast to slow down instead, when it's safe.
Don't "two-foot" (ride your gas and brake pedals at the same time). Hitting the brakes while speeding up doesn't stop the car, it just wears on the brakes.
Try to run light when possible. In other words, don't leave your trunk loaded up with cargo if you don't have to. You won't have to brake as hard, and that'll mean less brake wear.
Finally, bleed your brakes (get rid of excess air and moisture in the fluid and lines) every 2 years. That air and moisture builds up, and your brakes won't work as well; you'll have to brake more, and harder, meaning worse wear.
