Kia Brake Calipers: What They Cost, Care and Maintenance, and How to Replace Them

3. Try to run light when possible. In other words, don't leave your trunk loaded up with cargo if you don't have to. You won't have to brake as hard, and that'll mean less brake wear.
4. Finally, bleed your brakes (get rid of excess air and moisture in the fluid and lines) every 2 years. That air and moisture builds up, and your brakes won't work as well; you'll have to brake more, and harder, meaning worse wear.
